Welcome to the last edition of 2024. Opportunities to celebrate the festive period with a sprinkling of jazz abound, with at least one Christmas show each week until Christmas itself and three New Year's Eve parties to choose from. In sadder news, the CCA is now partially and temporarily closed until the spring as it goes through some financial hardship. However, its Third Eye Bar remains open and encourages anyone to stop by on a night out, as any revenue made from the bar is an important lifelink for the CCA.

I have decided to include an 'Honourable Mentions' section in these newsletters, for events that do not fit the theme of improv and jazz but seem too good not to promote. Firstly, we have two fundraisers: one in support of Rumpus Room, an artist-led initiative based in Govanhill which encourages young people to engage in art and social action, and another in support of SAMH (Scottish Action for Mental Health), which provides mental health support throughout the country. Lighter mentions include a twelth annual ukulele residency, along with some meditative and well-travelled beats to expand your musical mind.
