Welcome to a month of happier weather, happier moods and no shortage of events to keep up that happy streak! Our happiest news, by far, is the reopening of the CCA following a temporary closure, which allowed for some financial restructuring and futureproofing. Its programme is as busy as ever, most notably hosting screenings, talks and a music fundraiser for the Falastin Film Festival - proceeds from the fundraiser will go towards a Palestinian film-making fund, allowing artists to keep their voices high.

On a return to jazzy news, Basement Jazz Café has now relocated from Singl-end in Garnethill to Buff Club on Bath Lane. Their opening night in this new location is on Thursday 1 May, with a joint set by Kevin Henderson and Matthew Kilner.

For your stand out jam of the month, check out the Open Score Club by CoMA on Tuesday 27 May at the CCA. More open-ended and genreless than your usual pub jams, it will certainly provide your brain some extra stimulation for the week.
